Mini Conference: ARTSpirations II

Hello Teachers,

Thank you to fellow teachers that attended my workshop on February 26, 2014.

NOTAN is a Japanese art form that focuses on the beauty of negative and positive space.  It can be modified to adapt to any skill level and only requires coloured paper, scissors and glue.  Excellent for teaching the elements of art and principles of design.  Here are a few examples for past NOTAN designs I’ve made and some creations from workshop participants.

If you need a reminder check out the video from the workshop.

Inspire Creativity,

Ms. Lam

ARTspiration 2013

Hello fellow teachers,

Thank you for attending my Colour Theory workshop on October 3, 2013.  I hope you were able to use some of the techniques I demonstrated to create a masterpiece of your own.  As promised I have uploaded a copy of the lesson plan for the art exploration along with a colour wheel template and assessment sheet.  You can assess these resources through the “Teacher Resources” section at the top of my website. Please feel free to modify and use as you require.

Happy Creating!

Penny

Happy September

Hello Students,

It is now approaching the end of September and I hope everyone is easing back into the school year.  I am very excited about the learning that will happen for you in all of your classes this new semester at Nellie McClung.  As all of you may remember I was expecting a baby this summer break.  I am excited to announce that Baby Summer Reid arrived one week early on July 8th the day of the storm.  She was born at 6:31 am weighing in at 8 pounds 1 ounce.

She is very noisy and keeps me on my toes around the clock.  However, I will try and visit before the snow falls.  Until then, I will post a picture of Summer Reid for those of you that still log on to this site.

Wishing you all rich critical learning in all of your classes.

Sincerely,
Ms. Lam

Some examples of topics you can choose are:
